Poor Madelyn got attacked by killer ants yesterday. And at Target, of all places! I was getting something out of our car that I needed to return while Ryen and Maddie waited for me beside the car on a patch of grass. All of a sudden, Madelyn just started freaking out and crying hysterically. I looked down and saw the ground beneath her just swarming with literally thousands and thousands of fire ants. It was horrible! I acted as quickly as I could, but those things are ferocious! I went into Target to tell them about it and Maddie just kept saying, "It's okay. I'm tough." Her little feet were bright red and already swelling, but she insisted on walking and barely said another word about it. In trying to get those horrible ants off of her, I got a few bites/stings on my hand and they itch and burn like mad! This girl is one tough cookie!
Oh my goodness....that looks terrible...poor madie! What a tough cookie...I know i would have cried and be whiney afterwords....That is no fun.

ReplyDeleteI remember when I was in Utah at about age 3 being bit by tons of ants too. We were on a hill and I thought the little red ants were sooo cute. I wanted them to climb up my legs. Duh. And no, I didn't tough it out. I cried and cried.
