Today, Ryen has struggled to follow the classroom rules. She has been running around the classroom and making animal noises throughout the course of the day. When I asked her what was going on she stated that you're going on vacation tonight and she is wound up and excited about the vacation. We are still working with her to earn stickers, but we are having a challenging day. I just wanted to keep you posted on how things are going.

This is an email I got from Ryen's teacher today. While her behavior concerns me, I have to admit that I laughed so hard when I read this letter that I almost fell off my chair. It's just hard to be a kindergartener with ADHD!

Oh goodness.....hehe...that is too funny....Poor Ryen....I think they try and get kids to sit to long in kindergarten these days anyway....I got to play the entire time....Ryen has beautiful energy!!!!

Sorry i didn't call you back, but i did get your message and it actually worked out pretty good i am way behind on getting stuff done so i definitely needed an extra day, but i do hope we can get together soon.
ReplyDeleteHey, vacations are totally exciting!!! I don't blame her for the hoopla :) Wish I could go on vacation. I'd bounce of the walls just knowing I'm skipping town for once!
ReplyDeleteIt's sad that the teacher couldn't find a way to make it fun for Ryen, like join in the animal sound making for goodness sake. Man, what's she doing teaching K if she can't handle one excited kid once in awhile. Man if I were Ry's teacher I'd be all over those pig noise. What's this world coming to!

I'm with Suz! What kind of a kindergarten teacher is this lady? I get excited when I go on vacation too. Don't squash her excitement and animal sounds! :)
