It's hard to get my kids to settle down at the end of the day. It's even harder to keep them in their beds. Something that helps? Matilda! She's a bedtime fairy born of a star (and total desperation) who can't come to life until two little hooligans are soundly sleeping. She leaves stickers for them when they are good and has been known to leave fairy sparkles on their pillows at night. Ryen and Maddie love to hear stories about Matilda's adventures in the fairy forest and how she is even related to Tinkerbell. :) I may be crazy, but at least my house is quiet by 9:00 pm!
SOunds like a great idea to me!!! I hope I can come up with these creative stories to help my kids to bed!!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, amber. I'm sure you got the good mommy gene that is prevalent in Tracy girls and completely void in me. Seriously, Megan, I wish you were my mom! I could at least use some mommy lessons from you. I'm serious.
ReplyDeletethats a cute idea. I'm mean, i just tell my kids that if I hear another word there grounded for a week. doesn't always work... your plan is much more creative and pleasant.
ReplyDeletethat is such a creative idea!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Amber was talking about. She's been using that trick on me for years!! Only instead of stickers I get pink hearts and if I'm really good she leaves me high heels!! No, that is an awesome idea Meg. Keep blogging stuff like that so we can have some idea about what to do with our kid(s).

Oh my word...you have got to be kidding me Megan! Just when I think you've thought of everything fun you bust out Matilda! Brilliant I tell you...I almost don't have words. Your girls are the luckiest things ever to have you:)
ReplyDeleteI love fairies! I did the same thing, just not as big. I tell Emma stories about her fairy (the name changes because I can never remember and she hasn't noticed) then I tell her she can only come when she's asleep and her fairy will give her a kiss so she can have good dreams! I love the idea of stickers and fairy dust! And I love that you actually have Matilda for the girls to see! I might have to adopt some of that! You're amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are all so sweet! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteGeesh Megan. You never cease to amaze me. You put my parenting skills to shame.
ReplyDeleteKeep it up! :)
